The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the travel warning level for Cuba to the highest level, level four, advising against all travel to the country. The alert was issued due to the deepening energy and fuel crisis, which has hampered the ability to provide assistance in emergency situations, restrictions on air travel to Europe, and the risk of social unrest.

It added that protests are possible in Cuba, which may be organized due to prolonged power outages. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends exercising extreme caution and avoiding public gatherings.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that all of these circumstances may impact the ability to provide consular assistance efficiently. It also noted that the Polish Embassy in Havana is constantly monitoring the situation and providing information about significant changes in flight operations. Last week, the embassy warned tourists planning to travel to the popular island, drawing attention to the decision of one airline.

„Air France has announced the temporary suspension of flights on the Paris-Havana route from March 29 to June 14, 2026. The carrier’s decision is related to the limited availability of aviation fuel in Havana,” we read in a statement published on the X portal (formerly Twitter – ed.).
